Showers; Not the kind that rain on you

Image
Where do I begin to catch up on my recent lack of blogging? May is always a busy month for us, and this May has been no exception. Here is the brief list of events (that I can recall at the moment): May 2 - Darek's Birthday May 8 - Mother's Day May 15 - Smith family combined baby shower for Emily and I May 17 - My birthday May 19 - 25 - Vacation to Arizona May 22 - Darek & My 7th Anniversary 7th Wedding Anniversary - 32 Weeks pregnant May 28 - (Today) My family & friends baby shower May 30 - Memorial Day (always including some sort of fun gathering of friends, etc.) So, needless to say, we have had a lot going on so far this month... And I LOVE it!! This is my favorite time of the year, despite the particularly disgusting weather we have had up to this point. Being in Arizona for a week was a wonderful reprieve from the rain, storms, and general lack of sun. I thoroughly enjoyed being in the sun for 6 full days! We had a fantastic time visiting my pare...

Oh, what a wonderful Birthday...

Yep, you guessed it! Yesterday was my final birthday in my 20's. YIKES! It's still hard to really say that I'm 29, and I'm sure it's even more difficult for my parents to think that their baby is 29. Wowzers! All in all it was a great day, though. This year I decided not to take the day off of work (which I generally don't do, but have done the past 2 years). I stopped by Caribou Coffee on my way in to work to pick up a Mint (milk chocolate) Snow Drift with my free Happy Bou-Day coupon. This was a most delicious way to start my morning! Where I work, we always have a 'birthday lunch' for the birthday person, and they are allowed to choose any restaurant they would like. :-) Yes, I said ANY ! Naturally, I chose Bacio! It's a delicious Italian restaurant, specializing in local and fresh ingredients. I ordered a Parmesan, mushroom flatbread with truffle sauce. Um.. Again, YUM! I also ordered strawberry and salted caramel gelato for everyone to sh...

Happy Mother's Day

Image
This morning was the start of my first (pre) Mother's Day celebration. I decided to sleep in, after being up late last night and being exhausted from planting my garden and doing some yard work yesterday. SO - I was awakened to the sound of 'the world's best husband' coming into our bedroom with breakfast. Of course, he always does a great job going out of his way to surprise me and make me feel special. Don't worry - I shared one... :-) Yes, I was spoiled by this delicious box of donuts and a big glass of milk! Yum!!! After breakfast, Darek and I watched a really interesting documentary, after which I promptly went back to sleep. What a nice treat it was to sleep in. We took a nice walk downtown to look at some hanging flower baskets, and headed home just as it was starting to sprinkle out. The timing couldn't have been better!! A little later, Darek's parents came up and we headed out to an early supper. We ended up going to the 5-8 Cl...

A Few More Updates - 29 weeks

The Twins will make a come-back. I just know it!! So far every home game that we have been to, the Twins have won!! That's a total of 3, so maybe we should just go to every game. I wish!! Unfortunately, the weather has not been great this spring, but I see that changing as well. It has to! Here are a few pics from our trips to Target field: And... I had to include my Godiva Chocolate Bunny!! Still 1/2 of the bunny remaining. Not for long.... :-) My bi-weekly appointments have begun. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the visits being so frequent, but I am really enjoying it. I feel like I am able to develop an even better relationship with my midwife group, and go over some questions and labor / birth preparations with them. I have been reading a lot lately. I'm trying to get a good handle on what to expect as we approach this baby's birthday. We are still in the name debate, but if I can just fine a good one that Darek will agree with, we will be good to g...
