My Greatest Weapon

It's difficult knowing where to begin. I promised to update this blog regularly, and I am going to make good on that promise. This is not exactly how I planned to begin, however. I am currently sitting alone (because, you know, COVID) in the Emergency Department waiting for a CT scan to help us figure out why I am having abdominal pain. Of course, given my recent health history, this does not come without frustration or concern. Get Behind Me, Satan! Once again, I turn to God and confess every healing scripture that comes to mind. I praise God for His goodness and mercy in every situation. I will sing for joy when my heart is heavy. I choose joy. Sometimes we have no other choice. Sure, I'm disappointed that I am here, but I have to remember to choose joy always, in all circumstances.  I will soon rewind a bit and fill in the details that have brought me to this current point in time. Go Colts!

Over the past 3 years I have become a football fan, particularly rooting for the Indianapolis Colts. I think my love of football began when we moved into a home with a fireplace in the same room we used as a T.V. room, and by default I watched (or fell asleep to) many football games. As the season continued, however, I started asking questions and learning how the game worked, and who the players were. I must say that I am certainly no expert, but I now understand why Darek and 'the guys' are so into watching the games. In reality, it's a great way to spend time together, rooting for victory or amazing comebacks in the teams we love. That being said, I am thrilled that it is the first football Sunday in 2009!! We will watch the Vikings game, of course - considering that they are our home team - but I will be following my Colts online. :-) Who knows, maybe someday my love for the Colts will be that strong for the Vikings as well. Team Blue

You guessed it!  We are thrilled to announce that we will be joining team BLUE with little baby boy Schwarz!!! I still cannot figure out how to rotate the picture after uploading. Argh! We had the ultrasound tech circle the baby's sex on this piece of paper (and she also included a very detailed picture with her confirmation) and placed it in an envelope to open after we left the office. (I figured I would spare you the detailed picture and just include our little note instead.) The excitement and anticipation were too much, and we HAD to open it once we got home. We decided to open it up in the room that will be the nursery, to make that a special memory. How special it was! We are both overjoyed, and excited to welcome our little baby boy into this world. I was hoping to keep this a secret until the baby was born, but after we opened the envelope, I just couldn't see how we could both keep quiet that long.
